FAQs About Our PDX Tutoring Services

The cost of tutoring depends on the subject, grade level, tutor, and modality. Typical rates range from $60 – $120 per hour. We also have a small staff of current high school and college students who can provide lower cost tutoring at rates ranging from $35 – $55 per hour.

We don’t have a central tutoring office, so in-person tutoring is typically conducted at the student’s home. In-person tutoring can also happen at a public meeting space such as a local library or cafe. Overall, not having an office means our in-person tutoring can be more affordable and more convenient for our students.

While in-person tutoring is limited to students located in or near Portland, OR, our online tutoring services are available to students across the U.S. Online tutoring is conducted via zoom and typically involves additional tools / resources such as online whiteboards and shareable documents.

We offer college admissions counseling, college essay tutoring, and SAT / ACT test prep.

College admissions counseling includes everything from school and scholarship selection to application essay writing and submission, as well as organizational support and goal setting. 

College essay tutoring focuses on just the writing and revising of college application essays. 

In addition to SAT / ACT test prep, we can also help students prep for the PSAT, the SAT subject tests, the SAT essay, and the GED.
